Giving & budget

Giving by month

Bars: giving each month. Dashed line: each month's goal. The last bar is the month in progress.

Households

A household is the people Planning Center lists together. Anyone not listed with others is a household of one.

Running total against the goal
Solid line: giving so far this year. Dashed line: the goal so far. When the solid line sits below the dashed one, the year is behind. The last point is the month in progress.

Recurring giving

Recurring giving, morning by morning

What every active recurring gift adds up to in a month, read each morning. Dashed lines: the budget and the campaign target.

Outside gifts

Recurring gifts given outside Planning Center, like a donor-advised fund or a mailed check. They count toward recurring giving from their start date to their end date.

New givers who give again

Each row is the givers whose first gift fell in that quarter; each column is the share of them who gave again that many quarters later. Counts only, no names. Gift records start in 2019, so someone who gave before then counts as new in their first quarter after it.

Data updates

Every number here is rebuilt on a schedule. Update now runs one sooner; the page it belongs to shows when it's done.

People & access

Anyone can create an account from the sign-in page. They see nothing until they're approved here, with a role that sets what they can see.

What each role sees

Monthly close

Each month arrives from QuickBooks as preliminary and updates every morning until the books close. Write the month's email from its draft, then mark the month final.

Sundays & online

Every Sunday

Each point is one Sunday, in person and online. Dashed line: the average of the last four Sundays.

Participation

Week by week

Counted from Planning Center every Monday; older weeks come from the spreadsheet kept before that. The line changes color where the source changes, because the two counted some measures differently.

Import weekly counts

Export the Google Sheet as CSV and drop it here. The parser reads each metric column by header name and skips the URL-only row. Existing weeks are overwritten by date.

Each connected person's first connection after their profile was made.

How many kinds

How many kinds of connection each new person has: groups, serving, giving.

What tends to come next

After the first connection, what people add next, and who has become a member. The order is what happened, not a path anyone is meant to follow.

Import attendance CSV

Export your Google Sheet as CSV and drop it here. The parser reads Date, DCB AM Sanctuary, DCB Kids, Online, Downtown PM, and Notes columns by header name. Computed columns are ignored. Existing weeks are overwritten.

Upload Podbean CSV

Either Podbean export works; the file type is detected automatically.

Monthly totals (downloads-stats-YYYY-MM-DD_YYYY-MM-DD.csv): downloads by month, ideally the last 12 months. Re-uploading replaces overlapping months. A month the export only partly covers is marked partial and never overwrites a complete month. Keep the original filename, since the date range in it is how partial months are detected.

Per episode (downloads_stats.csv): each episode's downloads in its first 60 days. Re-uploading updates episodes that are still inside their window.

Chart annotations

Dated labels — "Easter", "Snowstorm", "New series" — drawn as dashed vertical lines on the MRR, monthly giving, and attendance trend charts so spikes and dips carry their explanation.

Upload QuickBooks reports

Drop one or more QuickBooks exports — CSV or Excel (.xlsx). Each is detected automatically (P&L, balance sheet or cash flow) and assigned to the month from the report header. Excel files are converted to CSV in your browser before upload.
